Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 8, what does hardness of heart look like in my relationships with God and neighbor? Why is it offensive to God? Action point for today?
Deuteronomy 28:1-68. God spells out in chilling detail the consequences to Israel of disobeying him. What are some moments of choice to obey or disobey God that I may face today?
Romans 3:21-31. Verses 23-25, all have sinned and all may have redemption in Christ Jesus. Do I sometimes forget that the “all” here includes me and mine? Do I assume I have a special ticket to heaven?
Matthew 9:9-13. Related, do I tend to think the sickness of souls, which Jesus came to cure, is other people’s problem, not my own? Action point for today?
