Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 8, how shall I specifically do God’s will today? How will I experience the delight that comes with doing so? Will others notice?
Jeremiah 32:1-44. Verse 27, do I really believe there is nothing too hard for our God? What particular need shall I bring before him today, in faith and trust?
I Timothy 4:1-16. Verses 7 and 8, what would it look like if I devoted myself as much to the exercises that increase spiritual growth, as I do to bodily exercise?
Matthew 16:5-12. What are some of the Pharisees’ and Sadduccees’ doctrines that Jesus warns me to beware of? What is the contrasting doctrine of Christ with which I can feed myself and others today?
