Bible Thursday 4/16: Stewards of Grace

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 108:1-13. Verses 11 and 12, is there an issue where I have been thinking of God’s help as a last resort—and on which I should invert that today by calling on God as my first resort?

Ezekiel 5:1-17. God orders more play-acting by the prophet, who is to shave his head and beard, using the hair to dramatize Israel’s coming punishment. Do I hang back from obeying God because of what others may think?

I Peter 4:1-11. Related, what is the boldest thing I have ever done to identify with Jesus Christ and imitate him? What is the next step in the same direction that Jesus is calling on me to take now?

John 3:22-36. Related again, verse 30, what would it look like in the present chapter of my life, for “me” to decrease in order that my witness for Jesus can increase?
