Bible Sunday 5/17: Obedient Delight

Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 8, delight to do thy will. In what specific ways shall I do God’s will today? By what signs will others notice my delight in doing so?

Ezekiel 38:1-23. God again warns that the enemies of Israel will bring great woe upon themselves. Is my church awake to this?

John 10:31-42. Jesus cites Psalm 82 to reaffirm that he is the Son of God. How does his Messiahship make all the difference for me today?

Acts 1:15-26. Jesus’ disciples, guided by God, choose Matthias to fill Judas’s vacant place among the twelve. What important decision or choice shall I lift up in prayer to God today?
