Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 24:1-10. Verses 3-5, how can I cultivate today those qualities that fit me to go up higher in the presence of God: clean hands, a pure heart, and an obedient soul?
Ezekiel 35:1-15. God again warns that the enemies of his people Israel will bring woe upon themselves. Is my church awake to this issue?
Luke24:36-53. The risen Jesus, before ascending to sit at his Father’s right hand, teaches his disciples how all of salvation history has climaxed in him. What’s the blessing here for me? What’s my obligation to him today?
Acts 1:1-14. After the Son is taken up, his chosen men and women gather again and the church begins to form. If I am to be one of his witnesses here and now, what will that look like in daily practice?
