Bible Friday 7/17: Clueless

Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Do I sometimes have a conversation like the psalmist here, with two halves of myself arguing over whether God can be trusted? What helps me insist: Yes He Can!

II Samuel 23:1-39. Verse 5, am I in covenant with God, as David was? What is required of me? What is required of him? Action point for today?

Acts 17:1-15. Verse 6, a complaint that is actually a compliment. How has the world in fact been turned upside down by the gospel of Jesus Christ? What about my own personal world?

Mark 9:30-41. While Jesus tries to tell them of his coming death and rising, the disciples are bickering over pride of place and personal glory. When have I failed to keep the main thing, the main thing?
