Bible Tuesday 12/20: Blessed Virgin

Psalm 66:1-20. If a friend asked, how would I sum up what God has done for my soul (verse 16) in street terms, not churchy terms?  By what actions today can I quietly invite such inquiries?

Isaiah 55:1-13. How can I be more trusting today that God's word is efficacious, never returning void, in a specific area of need I'm facing (verse 11)?

Revelation 20:1-15. What is the second death (verse 6)? Over whom is it powerless? Does that include me? What difference should it make in my thoughts and actions this Christmas?

Luke 1:26-38. How can I go deeper than ever before into the Nativity story this year, marveling not only at the kingly office of Mary's son but also at the faith and obedience of Mary herself?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
