Bible Tuesday 12/13: Walk about Zion

Psalm 48:1-14. If I were to mentally "walk about" the ideal human community we'd all inhabit together (verses 12-13), what would be its distinctives? Is my church living these out?

Isaiah 48:1-22. When has God shown, in my own life or that of someone close to me, that wickedness brings torment (verse 22, KJV)?  How did it play out? What did I learn?

Revelation 14:14-20. If divine wrath only occurs in the Old Testament, why is it attributed here to God the Father and Jesus his Son?  Am I clear that the Bible is all one and indivisible?

Luke 24:36-53. In light of verse 39, how can I as a Protestant fail to picture the risen Jesus with nail-pierced hands and feet, "stigmata," as my Catholic friends call them? What practical effect might this have on my relationship with the Lord?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
