Bible Monday 12/12: Road to Emmaus

Psalm 41:1-13. When have I been the subject of a whispering campaign (verse 7) or a friend's betrayal (verse 9)? What did it teach me about this world and God's care?

Isaiah 47:1-15. When have I been dashed from the heights to the depths, self-satisfaction to devastation (verses 7-9)? What did it teach me?

Revelation 14;1-13. How often do I have a day when there is truly no guile in my mouth (verse 5, KJV)? Can I do it today without a single slip? Where might the slip occur?

Luke 24:13-35. What steps can I take to infuse my study of Scripture with the awareness of Jesus on every page (verse 27)? And to let the study set fire to my heart (verse 32)?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
