Bible Sunday 1/7: Beloved

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 146:1-10. Verse 3, how well do the professed followers of Jesus in America today heed this warning? What are my own do's and don'ts in this regard? What is my church's role?

Deuteronomy 10:1-22. When have I personally experienced this God of second chances? When have I extended to someone the grace of a second chance? Who needs this from me today?

Matthew 3:13-17. What has my baptism meant in the life I've led, the growth I've gained? What was Jesus telling us in undergoing this? Action point?

John 2:1-12. Partly based on verse 5, many Christians commit themselves to unfailingly obey Jesus' every command and to highly exalt Mary for so teaching us. And I say what?
