Bible Wednesday 5/17: Forty Days

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 119:73-96. What exactly is a precept (verses 93, 94, KJV)? What are three or four of God's precepts that I can focus on today?

Exodus 24:1-18. Can we possibly imagine what Moses was doing for forty days up there on the mountain with God? Pondering that, do I gain a new sense of patience for the time holiness requires?

I Corinthians 4:9-21. Whom do I credit, in whole or in part, as my father or mother in Christ (verse 15)? Have I properly shown my gratitude? Action point?

John 7:14-24. Verse 17, cited by CS Lewis to help explain his conversion, became one of the keys in my own self-understanding as a late-comer to Jesus Christ. If interested in details, email me at AndrewsJK@aol.com
