Bible Thursday 6/22: Peter Unafraid

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 85:1-13. Verse 10, KJV. where in my life right now, or in our public life, is there a need for God's perfect balance of mercy and truth, righteousness and peace?

Leviticus 17:1-16. Verse 7, KJV, sacrificing to devils may sound far removed from anything we are tempted to do. But how might that same betrayal of the true God still subtly ensnare us?

Acts 5:22-32. Peter faces down the same high priest whose servant girl had so frightened him not long ago. Jesus banishes fear. What specific fear of mine shall I bring to him today?

Mark 1:40-45. Verses 44-45. What would Jesus have me tell everyone about him? What would he have me keep as a holy secret between him and me? How can I do better at both?
