Bible Sunday 8/20: Adoration

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 145:1-21. Verse 4, what did my parents' generation pass along to me of the things of God? What have I passed along to my children's generation? Action point?

Joshua 13:1-33. In the opening verses, God gives the people title to lands not yet possessed. What specifically can I anticipate by faith that he has for me, though not yet realized?

Acts 22:22-29. When Paul claims his rights as a Roman citizen, what are the similarities and differences with Christians asserting religious freedom today? Action point?

Mark 14:1-11. Verse 7, how pleased is Jesus with what I and my church do for the poor? Why does it matter? What steps shall we take?
