Bible Tuesday 8/29: Foundations

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 11:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" What's my answer, in terms of personal action, spiritually, morally, politically, civically?

Joshua 22:1-34. This crisis over religious orthodox seems far removed from our pluralistic times. Do I take God's truth and righteousness seriously enough? Does my church? Prayer point?

Acts 26:12-23. Verse 14 KJV, when have I found myself kicking against the pricks, resisting God's goading? How did it turn out? What did I learn?

Mark 6:14-29. John the Baptist spoke out against sin and paid with his life. What is today's counterpart of a guilty conscience brutally silencing dissent? What is the Christian's defense?
