Bible Sunday 10/8: Who Builds

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 118:1-29. Verse 22, in what ways do I make Jesus the cornerstone of my life? In what ways do I tend not to? Prayer point for today?

I Chronicles 17:1-27. Related: as David realized he must let God “build him” before he could usefully build for God, how has experience impressed that lesson on me?

II Corinthians 11:5-21. Verses 13-15, is our enemy Satan, with his agents seen and unseen, as real to me as he was to Paul? If not, why not? How can I better resist his designs against me?

Luke 9:51-56. What situation confronts me or my church even now, to which I can respond either with the disciples’ righteous harshness or Jesus’ disarming forgiveness? Action point?
