Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 80:1-19. When have I blamed my self-caused troubles on something else, even God (verses 4, 8)? How did I realize it was me, not him, who needed to turn (verses 3, 7, 19)?
Isaiah 17:1-14. Verses 7 and 10, as between remembering God and forgetting him, what has my chart looked like in the past few days? Action point?
I Thessalonians 5:1-11. Verse 8, what practical steps must I take to “armor up” for today as commanded here?
Luke 13:22-35. Verses 31 and 32, if troubled about who does or doesn’t hold political power, how can I gain the fearless serenity Jesus expresses here?
