Bible Sunday 12/23: All New

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 8:1-9. Humanity before the fall & after Jesus came. Can it thus be said that “Christmas changes everything” in the way I regard myself and others?

Isaiah 58:1-14. Beware a compassionless Christmas. Verses 6 and 7, how can I put this into practice in the next few days?

Revelation 21:1-8. Verse 4, whose tears shall I pray Jesus wipes away today? Verse 5, who or what do I need to see Jesus make new? Verse 6, whose thirst do I need to see Jesus quench?

Luke 1:67-80. Why is John’s father, silenced by God earlier, now given this prophetic eloquence? When have I been given a second chance? Who deserves a second chance from me?
