Bible Monday 3/12: Saving the Lost

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 89:1-52. Verses 6-8, though giving lip service that nothing and no one compares to God, doesn't my behavior often belie that? Just yesterday, what did I put before him?

Jeremiah 40:1-16. Could we say Jeremiah is politically agile, skilled at rendering to God and to earthly rulers? How can his example guide American Christians in these stormy times?

Romans 15:1-6. Whom can I particularly bless today by obeying this call to put others ahead of myself?

Matthew 18:10-14. How have I experienced or witnessed this extravagant, almost illogical love of Jesus in leaving the 99 sheep to pursue and rescue the lost one?
