Bible Monday 5/21: Sight Giver

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1:1-6. Verse 1 KJV, why is a scornful attitude displeasing to God? What's the opposite attitude, pleasing to him? How do I measure up in conversation or on social media?

I Samuel 2:1-36. Verses 1-10, Hannah's song of praise to God. Compare to Mary's magnificat in Luke 2:46. What are my top ten lifetime gratitude points for God's goodness to me?

Acts 2:22-28. Peter on Pentecost preaches Jesus Messiah based on Psalm 16. Am I ever this bold for the gospel, or do I tend to hold back? Action point for today?

John 9:1-12. Verse 5, in what way is Jesus the light of my world? Why does he say elsewhere that we are the light of the world? How do I specifically measure up?
