Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 89:1-52. Verse 15 KJV, how would I explain to a child or an inquiring adult this sound and light coming from God to each of us? Of what specific benefit can these be to me today?
Ezekiel 44:1-31. Verse 23 KJV, as a Christian, must I too discriminate between holy and profane, clean and unclean? How will this impact the way I think and act today?
Ephesians 4:17-24. Related question, what changes have I achieved in putting off the old man and putting on the new? Next step? In this process, do others see me as "holier than thou"?
John 16:16-24. How far along am I in gaining and keeping the joy Jesus promises here, relational not circumstantial, heavenly not earthly? Next step?
