Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 88:1-18. Verse 18, what is the loneliest I have ever been? How did God show up? What did I learn?
II Samuel 3:1-39. David's numerous wives, Joab's revenge. When have I seen God use flawed individuals to his good purpose? What flaws of mine has God overlooked in using me?
Acts 13:4-12. If not as sorcerers, in what form today do servants of the evil one try to obstruct the gospel and infiltrate the church? What is God's antidote and my role?
Matthew 24:45-51. Verse 49, if not to this extreme, by what self-indulgent behavior might I fail to serve Jesus as he expects? Action point for today?
