Bible Wednesday 6/20: Set Free

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:97-120. Verse 13 KJV, what vain thoughts (worldly ideas, falsehoods, misconceptions) must I put off for the sake of God and his truth?

II Samuel 1:1-27. Verses 19, 25, 27, "how are the mighty fallen." In these hotly political times, often putting Christians off balance, what warning can I take from this refrain?

Acts 12:5-19. In what specific way do I need God's angel to protect me, liberate me, or guide me today? Am I bold enough to pray for exactly that?

John 24:15-31. Verse 24, false Christs with impressive signs deceiving even the faithful. Where do we see this playing out? What am I doing about it?
