Bible Thursday 7/5: Jailer's Life Spared

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 134:1-3. Verse 2, does it matter what I do with my hands, knees, eyes, etc. when coming to God in prayer or worship?

II Samuel 16:1-23. Verse 12, when have I turned the other cheek at a severe provocation or wrong done me? How did it turn out? What did I learn? Present application?

Acts 16:25-40. Paul & Silas are set free by prayer at midnight, then by politics in the morning. Meanwhile converts are made. Do we today rely too much on politics, too little on prayer?

Mark 3:1-6. Verse 4, Jesus says doing good & saving life are in order 24/7. How am I tempted to violate divine logic with human legalism?
