Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 9 KJV, if someone spent a few days with me, watching carefully, what would they say I'm most zealous about? God or something else?
I Kings 21:1-29. In this Scripture and many others, why does God attach importance to private property and to justice for rich and poor alike? Is my church clear on this?
Acts 28:1-16. Even when shipwrecked, Paul was the same person all the time, favored of God and zealous for God. What "same person" am I all the time?
Mark 8:27-30. What mistaken identities does the world attach to Jesus today? What candid conversational response am I prepared to give, winsome not off-putting, when this is voiced?
