Bible Sunday 7/8: Strangeness of the Gospel

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 113:1-9. Verse 6 KJV, how has God humbled himself toward me? How can I humble myself toward him today in return?

iI Samuel 19:1-43. David regains the throne, but quarrels continue. When have I seen disputes and disunity in a church or among Christians? What's the root cause? What did I learn?

Acts 17:16-21. Verse 18, how does worldly philosophy and intellectualism get in the way of Jesus' gospel today?

Mark 3:20-27. Verse 27, how much do I and my church rely on Jesus to bind the strong man, Satan?
