Bible Monday 7/16: Eutychus

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 9:1-20. Verse 1 KJV, do I praise God with my whole heart or not quite? What part of me holds back? Why? Action point?

I Kings 3::1-28. How does Solomon's prayer illustrate the elements of a petition God loves to answer? Which of those do I need to emphasize more in my prayers?

Acts 20:1-16. Faced with a fatality like this in our midst, what would my church do? Would I press in or hang back? Would our assurance be like Paul's (or Solomon's, previous reading)?

Mark 4:33-34. Which parables of Jesus -- or parables of my own devising -- should I be ready to use in sharing my faith with an inquirer?
