Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 44:1-26. Verse 21 KJV, what secrets of my heart (good or bad) does God know, though they are unknown to everyone or most everyone else? Why does that matter? Action point?
I Kings 10:1-29. Verse 7, "the half was not told me." The queen thus complimented Solomon, but was there another half to his overall condition that would prove the king's undoing?
Acts 22:17-29. Verse 21, why did this enrage the crowd, listening politely until now? What hard saying from God might I or my church have trouble accepting?
Mark 6:30-44. Verse 34, how am I like a sheep having no shepherd? What attributes of Jesus make him the very shepherd I need? What does he expect from me in return, right now today?
