Bible Sunday 8/26: Fear God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 111:1-10. Verse 10, is fearing God an outmoded concept, or is it still required of us? If so, how do I act upon this today? What attitude is called for? What wisdom will it yield?

II Kings 22:1-20. Verses 9-13, how does the young king show the fear of God? Have I or my family ever had such a crisis of realizing we had neglected him? What did we learn?

Job 2:1-13. Verses 3 and 9 KJV, Job's unyielding integrity in spiritual, not just moral matters. When has my spiritual integrity been tested? How might it be tested today?

Mark 12:13-17. How does Jesus' rule of rendering rightly to God and to Caesar shed light on the current controversy over religious liberty? Political light and spiritual light both?
