Bible Monday 8/6: Transfiguration

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 24:1-10. Verse 7, how can I open the gate or door of my heart wider today than yesterday, for King Jesus to enter and reign there?

II Kings 2:1-25. Elisha hangs on & on. When have I persisted with God to what seemed unreasonable lengths? What was the outcome?

II Peter 1:12-21. Verse 20 KJV, in what way am I susceptible to private interpretation of Scripture? What's the right approach in contrast? Why does it matter?

Mark 9:2-13. How would this day have changed Peter, John, and James forever? What was my turning-point experience in realizing who Jesus is? What did I have left to learn (verse 10)?
