Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 136:1-26. Twenty-six proofs of God's mercy. What are some large & small proofs of his mercy (not just love, but undeserved favor) in my life right now?
II Kings 7:1-20. God breaks the siege & relieves the famine. Verse 19, when have I doubted Him and been proved wrong?
II Peter 3:14-18. What else should I be doing, what changes should I make, to be at all times ready for Jesus' return? Since it's grace, not works, that saves me, why does this matter?
Mark 9:42-50. Amputation for self-preservation, which surely has no relevance to me. Or does it? Becoming more salty for Jesus. What markers will others see as I do this?
