Bible Saturday 9/22: It is Written

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 75:1-10. Verses 6 and 7, for what situation in the news or in my job, my family, my church, shall I pray this promise of God today?

Job 29:1-25. How susceptible am I to wishing the old days could come back again, or to feeling the best times are over and gone? What is God’s answer to that?

II Corinthians 10:12 - 11:4. Verses 12 and 13, what is my measuring stick for the kind of person I want to be in Christ? What false criteria of measurement should I beware of?

Luke 4:1-13. Three times Jesus cites Scripture to rebuff the devil. Facing the demands of this day, what is a Bible verse, or several of them, I can have ready when the test comes?
