Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 9b, Lincoln cited this to understand the Civil War. What severe judgments of God are upon America right now? What can I and my church do about it?
Job 37:1-24. Verse 13, related question, how is our land under divine correction in 2018? But also under divine mercy? Have I, as one person, any role in this cosmic process?
I John 2:15-27. Verse 25, what practical difference will it make for me today, that I have eternal life in Jesus Christ?
Luke 5:27-32. Verse 31, even at my healthiest, in what way am I sick and in need of Jesus as my physician? Application for today?
