Bible Tuesday 9/11: Renewed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 45:1-17. Verses 3-5, what attributes of Jesus Christ are symbolized by his sword, his arrows, his warhorse? How would I have him use these for my benefit today?

Job 18:1-21. Details on the awful fate of him who knows not God (verse 21). Though inapt to comfort Job, this was once widely believed in our civilization. But no longer. What happened?

II Corinthians 4:7-18. Verse 16 KJV, how is this paradox of the outward man perishing yet the inward man being renewed in Christ, specifically playing out in my life right now?

Mark 14:53-65. Verse 62, if Jesus’ words “you will see” are a literal prediction, not just figurative imagery, what difference does this make in how I should think and act today?
