Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 23:1-6. Verse 4, what is my experience with the valley of the shadow of death? How did God show up?
Genesis 40:1-23. Verse 14, in claiming the butler’s IOU, was Joseph using an opportunity from God or wavering in his trust for God? Present application for me?
Hebrews 13:7-25. Verse 17 KJV, who rules over me? Who looks out for my soul? As a Christian, am I actively under pastoral authority, or more self-guided?
Matthew 11:7-15. If Jesus asked me a) what commands most of my attention, b) how I am preparing to meet him, and c) whether I prioritize worldly values or kingdom values, would he approve my answer?
