Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 118:1-29. Verse 24, if God really did make today, what is true about these few hours? What is untrue about them? How shall I express my rejoicing?
Leviticus 20:1-27. Verses 2-5, child sacrifice forbidden. How does this relate to the pro-abortion movement in America and around the world? What is my church doing about it?
Acts 4:23-31. Verses 29 and 31, boldness in Christ. What would it actually look like for me to take this up a notch in the way I follow Jesus? First step?
Mark 2:1-12. Verse 3, whom do I know that is sick, sinning, suffering, or sorrowing and needs to be “brought to Jesus” today? What friends will help me with that, taking another corner of the stretcher?
