Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 113:1-9. Verses 7-9, in what way are the poor man and the prince, the childless woman and the joyful mother, all equal before God? To whom can I extend that equality today?
Leviticus 6:1-30. These sacrifices no longer being required of Christians, what does God ask of me today that demonstrates the same exactness, obedience, and solemnity?
II Corinthians 13:5-14. Verse 5, a key verse for self-examination: Am I truly in the faith today? What are the markers? The danger signals? Who can help me be accountable?
Matthew 28:16-20. The great commission for Gospel proclamation and soul-winning. How can my church do better at this? My role?
