Bible Wednesday 6/19: Crown of Thorns

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:97-120. Verses 104 and 113 KJV, if I really love God, what false ways must I hate? What vain thoughts must I hate? First step to obey this today?

Leviticus 9:1-24. Verse 24, since God no longer sends fire to consume a sacrificed animal, what signal of him accepting our worship should we look for?

I Corinthians 15:20-34. Verse 31, Paul says that he dies daily. What in me needs to die today, in order that I may depend on Jesus more fully and serve him more selflessly?

John 18:39-19:8. Verse 5, “Behold the man!” How can I keep before my mind today the awful, beautiful picture of our suffering, conquering King?
