Bible Friday 7/19: Meekness

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 31:1-24. Verse 15, my times in Thy hand. What issues of time can I turn over to God today, whether it be age, deadlines, regrets, scars, hopes, pressure? How will I receive his answer?

Numbers 12:1-16. Verse 3 KJV, how could Moses, one of the greatest leaders in all history, have been a meek man? What would it look like for me to show meekness in my relations with God and with other people today?

Acts 11:19-30. Verse 26, first to be called Christians. By what phrase or few words—if not “Christian”— would I describe my theology and way of life to an inquirer? Might that sometimes be advantageous?

Mark 8:1-10. Verse 4, feeding of the 5000 already forgotten. Was there a time recently when my dullness must have tried Jesus’ patience? Application for today?
