Bible Tuesday 8/6: Eyewitnesses

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 72:1-20. Verse 4 KJV, what oppressors, material and spiritual, trouble our world right now? God defeating them, what would that look like? My role?

Numbers 30:1-16. What are the most serious vows I have ever made? If God asked me for an accounting of them, would he be pleased? Action point?

II Peter 1:12-21. Verse 20, beware private interpretations of Scripture. How does this get at me? What is God’s remedy?

Mark 9:2-8. How does Peter “get” Jesus in today’s reading from his second letter, and fail to do so here as he equates the Lord with Moses and Elijah? Which Jesus do I most often follow?
