Bible Tuesday 9/17: Popularity Trap

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 62:1-12. Verse 11, God supreme in power. Who or what am I tempted right now to accredit with power rivaling God? Prayer point for today?

Judges 12:1-15. Hebrew tribes slaughtering each other. What’s the source of disunity among God’s people today? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Colossians 3:1-17. Verses 8-14, how in Christ a new self replaces the old. Measuring by this passage, what’s my biggest recent accomplishment? What’s my next main goal for the rest of 2019?

Luke 6:20-26. Verses 22 and 26, judging by this contrast, am I in step with Jesus right now or out of step with him? How to start changing that?
