Bible Monday 9/16: Not Guilty

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 64:1-10. Verses 3 and 7 KJV, when enemies shoot at me, God shoots back at them. What are the spiritual “arrows” coming at me today, and the ones He aims in my defense?

Judges 11:1-40. Verse 27 KJV, God the Judge. What plea for justice do I bring into his court today? Who is my advocate? How shall I expect the verdict to be executed?

Colossians 2:11-23. Verse 14, what’s the most negative or damning thing I am tempted to believe about myself? Can I accept that Jesus canceled this indictment of me at the cross? How should I therefore think and act today?

Luke 6:12-19. Verse 12, what’s the next stage for me in deepening and intensifying my prayer life in imitation of Jesus?
