Bible Sunday 9/15: Lord of the Sabbath

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 84:1-12. Verses 1-3 KJV, God’s tabernacle, courts, altars. In what way can I experience all these day by day, whether or not I’m in church?

Judges 10:1-18. Verse 14, when have I felt God was essentially standing back to let me suffer the consequences of a bad decision? What did I learn? Present application?

Colossians 2:1-10. Verses 3 and 8, contrasting Christ’s wisdom with worldly wisdom. How am I susceptible to this? How does this infect the church in these times? Action point?

Luke 6:1-11. What steps can I take to better align my approach to the sabbath with what Jesus expects of me?
