Bible Saturday 9/14: The Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 66:1-20. Verse 16 KJV, what are some verbs, action words, that describe what God has done for my soul? What are some nouns, names of things, that he has given me and taken from me? To whom shall I declare this today?

Judges 9:1-57. Gideon’s sons in bloody conflict, much woe in Israel. What’s the warning here for the people of God in America today? My church’s role?

Philippians 2:1-11. Verses 1-4, Christians in loving fellowship. By what specific actions, toward what specific persons, can I model these attitudes today?

John 3:11-17. How the Cross saves the world. Is this preached at my church unceasingly, or frequently, or sporadically? Is it on my heart every day, or most days, or some days? Action point?
