Bible Monday 11/9: Low Road or High Road?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 4 KJV, going about my life as usual today, what would it actually look like if I focus on dwelling in God’s house, beholding his beauty, inquiring in his temple?

Isaiah 14:1-32. Verses 12-15, how is Lucifer, prince of the fallen angels, trying to deceive and destroy me and my family, my church and my country, in these wicked times? What is God’s remedy?

I Thessalonians 5:12-28. Verse 15, how does the impulse to render evil for evil (fight fire with fire, eye for an eye) get at me through current politics and culture wars? What does Jesus command me instead?

Luke 18:18-30. Verses 28-30, what have I given up in order to follow Jesus? What else may he now want me to give up? Am I hesitant?
