Bible Sunday 1/3: A Time for Choosing

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 10:1-18. God’s judgment upon the wicked. How do current notions of wickedness differ from what the Bible teaches? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Genesis 3:1-24. When have I found myself in conversation with the serpent? How did it turn out? In what way am I vulnerable to the serpent at present? What is God’s remedy?

I Corinthians 15:20-28. Verse 22, exactly how will this day require me to choose between Adam and death or Christ and life?

John 1:19-28. Verse 23, what “road improvements” in my heart and mind shall I undertake this year, to clear the way for Jesus to come and dwell there?
