Bible Monday 1/4: Found Him

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 11:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, what foundations of a humane way of life are threatened by the ungodly right now? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Genesis 4:1-26. Verses 6-9, Cain and Abel. When have I experienced bitter family strife? How did God show up? Present application? Does this story teach that we are to be our brother’s keeper?

I John 3:10-15. Verse 11, how does this radical teaching, love one another, point to a different way of conducting myself in a time of Covid, economic distress, and political-racial tension?

John 1:29-42. Disciples begin following Jesus. What has it cost me to follow him? What have been the rewards? What marks of a disciple are evident to those who know me only slightly?
