Bible Tuesday 1/5: Wicked Times

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 12:1-8. Verse 3 KJV, in what way am I likely to give or receive flattery? Why does this displease God? What does he want instead?

Genesis 5:1-32. Verses 22-24 KJV, what could have been unusual enough in the way Enoch walked with God, that he was taken into heaven without experiencing death? What’s the lesson here for me?

Hebrews 11:4-6. Verse 6, starting a new year, how can I magnify or fortify or purify my faith so that I please God as never before? First step?

John 1:43-51. Verse 28, what secrets of mine, whether godly or ungodly, is Jesus able to see right now? Having therefore nothing hidden from him, what shall I proceed to do?
