Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 127:1-5. Verse 1, what important matter have I been taking too much upon myself and not first of all trusting it to God? Prayer point for today?
Jeremiah 20:1-18. Verse 9, Jeremiah on fire to speak for God. Have I ever felt this kind of urgency in my faith, this compelling sense of mission?
Romans 8:31-39. Verse 35, what stands in the way of my fully experiencing Christ’s love today? Verse 37, do I in some ways feel more like one conquered than like a conqueror? Do I, that is, have it tougher than Paul?
Matthew 13:24-35. Verses 31-33, what’s the tiny kingdom seed or pinch of kingdom yeast that will keep expanding and at last completely take over, if I let Jesus place it in my heart today?
