Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:49-88. Verse 72, what do I have from God that is more precious to me than any amount of material wealth? How does that make a difference for me today?
Jeremiah 15:1-21. Verses 15-17, when have I felt isolated and mistreated in standing with God? What word from him sustained me? Present application?
Romans 7:1-12. Verse 4, if my relationship with the crucified and risen Christ is like a marriage, what is thereby offered me? What is thereby asked of me? Action point?
Matthew 12:38-42. Related question, am I sometimes tempted to bargain with Jesus when he just wants all of me? What’s the consequence?
