Bible Tuesday 5/5: Tough Test

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 10:1-18. Verse 17, God hears prayer. While we still await God’s answer to many prayers in this pandemic, what answers to prayer has he already given that I can thank and praise him for today?

Ezekiel 25:1-17. God judges the nations. To a teenager asking where God is, with their own life upended and the world reeling from a medical and economic crisis, how would I answer?

I Corinthians 10:1-13. Verse 13, related question, in putting us—his loved ones—through the tough but not impossible test of Covid, what is God trying to teach me or accomplish in me? As it drags on, how am I doing?

John 6:41-51. Verse 51, what does it mean to “feed on Jesus,” other than to ritually take communion in church? Observing me, with no words exchanged, how could others tell I am thus nourished? Action point today?
